The Istanbul Political Research Institute (IstanPol), in collaboration with Rawest Research and the Kurdish Studies Center, held the roundtable discussion A New Era in the Kurdish Issue: Internal Dynamics and Regional Implications on Thursday, May 29,2025 at Istanbul.

The meeting brought together Tuncer Bakırhan, Co-Chair of the DEM Party, along with academics, think tank representatives, and civil society actors. Participants discussed the possible directions of the ongoing process for resolving the Kurdish issue, the opportunities it may open for democratic politics, the questions it raises, and the potential risks in terms of democratization.

This closed-session event aimed to create a deeper discussion platform by combining the perspectives of political actors and experts.
